Well it looks like Abby Lee Miller’s freedom is officially coming to an end. Instead of yelling at 11-year-olds she will probably be taking in a knitting class or two.
Back in October 2015, Abby was found guilty of trying to hide $775,000 of income which she earned from Dance Moms and her spin-off show Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition all while she filed for bankruptcy. She was out there hiding all of that money in secret bank accounts between 2012-13, and things just continued to get worse as the money continued to flow in.
Abby was also also accused of splitting up $120,000 between her friends, then having them carry the money in their luggage.
Before I go any further, what kind of friends does this woman have? I mean I understand that she is slightly terrifying and would probably kill me if I stole the money but that is a risk I am willing to take. I understand that homegirl was trying to be sneaky but there was no way that I could ever be trusted with all of that money. There is also no possible way that I could keep cool under pressure casually wheeling a ton of money through the airport. Not the girl for that job.
In May, Abby was found guilty and is now going to be spending a year and one day in the big house followed by two years of supervised probation. She was also fined $40,000 and must pay $120,000 as part of her judgement.
I guess that this is karma for making little kids cry because they can’t perfect a plié.
According to People magazine, Abby has mentioned that she is afraid of being raped in prison so she has to keep busy.
Honestly, I think that prison was one of the best things for Martha Stewart–now she is besties with Snoop Dogg.
Look on the bright side Abby, you’ll probably get a new reality show out of this.
