Catelynn Baltierra makes ‘joke’ pregnancy announcement.

Just when you thought another Teen Mom star is knocked up and we’re gonna see all the dramas… It turns out Catelynn Baltierra and her husband Tyler making sappy, baby-feverish tweets led to Cate posting a joke pregnancy announcement complete with a hideously photoshopped cartoon baby ultrasound.

As you can imagine, a lot of fans and hatters are not pleased with the joke. It’s a bit passé these days to make false pregnancy announcements given the increase in infertility and loss awareness.

Tyler didn’t help matters either by furthering the ‘humor’ on his Twitter account.

All of this came after the couple Tweeted this morning how badly they wanted a baby.

Catelynn, too, tried to LOL it off.

Followed quickly by Tyler complaining that nobody can take a joke anymore.

So bring on the comments. I’m sure you all are opinionated one way or the other about this social media gag!

I don’t agree with the need to withhold pregnancy jokes because some people can’t conceive, but I’ve also never struggled to conceive (quite the opposite, actually). So I recognize my limitations in speaking on that aspect of the subject however

I think pregnancy jokes are tired in general. It’s simply not funny. Maybe among friends at the age of 13, but not among adults on social media. I certainly don’t understand the point of joking as a Z list celebrity on social media for anything but attention.

They are annoying and I hope they get diarrhea today.

Yea. I have a really good sense of humor really not much offends me at all, however this does. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for two years, and I hate when women make jokes about getting pregnant. I know they don’t think it’s that bad, because they never had to go through it. The fact that Tyler is down playing other women’s emotions about this “joke” just shows what an ass he is. They really need to find something else to occupy their time.

I’m sorry, I hope you get your BFP soon. Having fertility problems can feel like a very lonely road sometimes xxx

I am truly sorry about your fertility struggles. I can’t imagine the pain you must be going through. However, I must take issue with your contention that the Baltierras are insensitive.

If no one is allowed to make jokes where even one person gets offended, there would be no jokes, ever. Laugh at someone who stepped in dog poo? How dare you! My dog has irritable bowel syndrome!! Make a stupid dad joke? Well, my dad can’t tell jokes, because HE DIED, you insensitive moron!!

It is a shame that this touched a nerve for you, but Tyler doesn’t know you, and he didn’t mean to offend anyone. It’s okay to not like a joke, but still respect the spirit in which it was made.

    Jesus god, these two…

They’re both so arrogant and proud of their ignorance – then to come out with some dimwit half assed apology that basically says that everyone needs to get over it, STFU. They’re so pathetic, reminds me of when Cait “trolled” twitter by saying that she did buy a horse, then laughed at everyone calling her reckless and impulsive. Do they do anything apart from smoke weed and think of ways to get attention online? Get a job!

Long ago, I was one of those people who thought that a seemingly ‘harmless’ pregnancy announcement wasn’t nothing to get offended and upset over. It wasn’t done in malice but, meant to be in fun. Freedom of speech BS. However, I have a few friends who struggle with infertility or suffered a loss and I saw through their eyes the harm it could cause.

In the past year, I’ve lost two pregnancies and I recently saw a joke pregnancy announcement involving twins. It hurt. It was a slap in the face. It’s not something to be taken lightly.

Would they think a joke about putting your child up for adoption is funny?

They are selfish and attention seeking. It’s like a stab in the heart to people who want nothing more than to have a baby.

Well, we’re giving them what they want: attention. I think those two are so desperate they don’t care if it is bad press, à la Farrah.
Personally, I would never joke about being pregnant. Pregnancy is my worst nightmare.

I think it’s a stupid joke as wel, but I’m happy that it’s not true since they are (were?) already struggling with Nova.

I don’t get offended by it (even though I can certainly understand why others do) but I do see it as unnecessary and pointless. Seriously, what was the point of this? April Fools was three days ago at the time of her posting it. From the way they were tweeting about wanting another one, it wouldn’t surprise me if she ended up pregnant within the next two months or so. I used to love these two and how they handled their pregnancy with Carly but the last few years have definitely shown how shitty they are as people. The apple certainly does not fall far from the tree. In the words of Nathan: “white trash who hit the lottery.”

I’ve talked previously about my fertility and loss struggles.
I was extremely offended by Kail’s “excuse” for her last unplanned pregnancy.
On the other had I can’t say this offends me. Personally, it’s just bullshit spouted off by bullshit people. No, pregnancy isn’t a joke and fake pregnancy announcements can be painful to a lot of people. What I see is two people who are bored and unhappy and they are trolling for attention. Maybe Cait is trying to test the waters and see how people react if she were to have another baby? I think it’s stupid and insensitive but I doesn’t get near the reaction as Kail from me.

Aside from the fact that they are attention whores, I think you are correct that this is testing the waters because they are probably “trying” 😕

I’m torn when it comes to my opinion as far as them having another baby.
One side is, they are married and can provide all that the baby needs as far as food, shelter…(way more than they had with Carly)
The other side is I think they are both mentally unstable. They have so many unresolved issues and both need some intense therapy (not the TV kind)
Maybe it would be good for them, maybe it would disrupt their obsession with Carly a bit?

Wow sophias stripper pole that’s not what I meant at all! I have a really good sense of humor. What is funny about a pregnancy joke though? They are just trying to stay relevant.
