Just as Teen Mom OG‘s Matt Baier is reveling in his “Being Matt” special (recap coming soon thanks to our fabulous writer JerseyGirl!), the rumor mill is busting at the seams again. Yesterday, a Twitter user named Katie Rowe claimed to be the friend of one of Matt’s love interests—only she says this relationship was occurring in 2016. That, of course, would indicate that Matt was cheating on his fiancee Amber Portwood, as they have been together since 2014. The couple is planning their wedding for this October 2017.
As proof, Katie released a cropped screenshot of text messages that she claims are between her anonymous friend and Matt. The Ashley claims she has verified that the number included in the full, uncropped text message screenshots is, indeed, Matt’s cell phone number. Katie further says she’s seen similar messages sent to two other women.
Here is the screenshot released by Katie. The grey bubbles are allegedly Matt’s texts and the blue bubble is from Katie’s friend.
Katie says her friend is going through her out of fear, so for now, we will have to trust the verification and just wait for the fallout. However, this news story hasn’t been without controversy. Katie has had to defend herself against claims she was just a trolling hatter who is completely making this up. She says she just wants to help her friend and the other women she knows were involved.
Amber, I am genuinely sorry. Nobody wants to hurt u but we can't keep other women who r hurt quiet to 'protect' u. It's not even protection.

Katie also posted messages she says are from the anonymous friend which read as follows:
“Why can’t women support other women? Before calling my friend a liar, maybe ask her a question or two. She’s putting herself out there because she knows me AND other women who have been hurt by this. The whole reason I didn’t come forward for a year is because I was afraid of what would happen. It’s scary enough to deal with repercussions from people I’m directly talking about, but form women who don’t even know who I am? Why? We did it this way on purpose so it would coincide with his special. Yes, we wanted a small audience first. Some of you are my friends and don’t even know it. Why can’t you give us a day? Please don’t make this harder. I’m already really dang scared.”
So what do you think, dear reader?
